God's Call to Separate from all Apostate Churches and their False Doctrines Before the Seven Last Plagues are Poured Out.

* "A great work is to be done in setting before men the saving truths of the gospel. To present these truths is the work of the third angel's message. . .
The whole of the gospel is embraced in the third angel's message, and in all our work the truth is to be presented as it is in Jesus. Let nothing lessen the force of the truth for this time."
* "The third angel's message must do its work of separating from the churches a people who will take their stand on the platform of eternal truth. Our message is a life and death message, and we must let it appear as it is, the great power of God. We are to present it in all its telling force. Then the Lord will make it effectual." (Ms 19, 1900 , pp. 1, 4, 5.)
* 6T 61 "Our warfare is aggressive. Tremendous issues are before us, yea, and right upon us. Let our prayers ascend to God that the four angels may still hold the four winds, that they may not blow to injure or destroy until the last warning has been given to the world. Then let us work in harmony with our prayers. Let nothing lessen the force of the truth for this time. The present truth is to be our burden." (see PK 188)
* The third angel's message must do its work of separating from the churches a people who will take their stand on the platform of eternal truth. This is also referred to as the time of the Latter Rain. (seeRev.18)
* "Satan has devised a state of things whereby the proclamation of the third angel's message shall be bound about. We must beware of his plans and methods. There must be no toning down of the truth, no muffling of the message for this time. The third angel's message must be strengthened and confirmed. The eighteenth chapter of Revelation reveals the importance of presenting the truth in no measured terms but with boldness and power.... There has been too much beating about the bush in the proclamation of the third angel's message. The message has not been given as clearly and distinctly as it should have been." Manuscript 16, 1900.
Revelation 14:1 "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."
Revelation 14:4 "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whither soever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, [being] the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb." (The symbol of 'women' here refers to churches who have accepted the spurious doctrines of Babylon. This is explained further later.)
Revelation 14:5 "And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."
Revelation 14:6 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,"
Revelation 14:7 "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
Revelation 14:8 "And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."
(All nations includes the religions of those nations, see 7A 423. This chapter and the whole Bible history and prophecy is concerned with the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan; there are only two opposing powers in the universe and God is calling His faithful people to separate from all false systems of worship before He allows the seven last plagues to be poured out on those who ignore His call of mercy.)
Revelation 14:9 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,"
Revelation 14:10 "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"
Revelation 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 18:1 "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Revelation 18:2 "And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Revelation 18:3 "For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Revelation 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
4SP 232 “When the churches spurned the counsel of God by rejecting the Advent message, the Lord rejected them. The first angel was followed by a second, proclaiming, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." [see REV. 14:8] “This message was understood by Adventists to be an announcement of the moral fall of the churches in consequence of their rejection of the first message. The proclamation, "Babylon is fallen," was given in the summer of 1844, and as the result, about fifty thousand withdrew from these churches.”
* “The term Babylon, derived from Babel, and signifying confusion, is applied in Scripture to the various forms of false or apostate religions. But the message announcing the fall of Babylon must apply to some religious body that was once pure, and has become corrupt. It cannot be the Romish Church which is here meant; for that church has been in a fallen condition for many centuries. But how appropriate the figure as applied to the Protestant churches, all professing to derive their doctrines from the Bible, yet divided into almost innumerable sects. The unity for which Christ prayed does not exist. Instead of one Lord, one faith, one baptism, there are numberless conflicting creeds and theories. Religious faith appears so confused and discordant that the world know not what to believe as truth. God is not in all this; it is the work,--the work of Satan.”
* “In Revelation 17, Babylon is represented as a woman, a figure which is used in the Scriptures as the symbol of a church. A virtuous woman represents a pure church, a vile woman an apostate church. Babylon is said to be a harlot; and the prophet beheld her drunken with the blood of saints and martyrs. The Babylon thus described represents Rome, that apostate church which has so cruelly persecuted the followers of Christ. But Babylon the harlot is the mother of daughters who follow her example of corruption. Thus are represented those churches that cling to the doctrines and traditions of Rome and follow her worldly practices, and whose fall is announced in the second angel's message. The close relation of the church to Christ is represented under the figure of marriage. The Lord had joined his people to himself by a solemn covenant, he promising to be their God, and they pledging themselves to be his, and his alone. Said Paul, addressing the church, "I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ." [2Cor.11:2] but when her confidence and affection were turned away from him, and she sought after vanity, and allowed the love of worldly things to separate her from God, she forfeited the privileges included in this peculiar and sacred relation. By the apostle James those who assimilate to the world are addressed as "adulterers and adulteresses." James 4: 4”
(In the light of the forgoing words of inspiration, it seems clear that those who will compose the 144,000, will form no alliance with those who reject the truth. They will not have joint ventures with the Roman Church or commandment breaking churches in spiritual or health matters, nor would they present the Pope with a gold plated medal! They would not invest the Lord’s money in Drug companies via the Stock Exchange. They would not initiate litigation in the state law courts to settle disputes! Nor would they allow Spiritualists, Roman Catholics, or apostate protestant clergy to preach in their pulpits, or colleges, or support them. They would believe the prophet’s words:-) “We should never give sanction to sin by our words, or our deeds, our silence or our presence.” DA 152
ST 02-19-94 “It is a backsliding church that lessens the distance between itself and the papacy”
(To give the Third Angel’s Message with power we must understand, believe and obey the message ourselves.)
SW - 03-21-05 “The wilderness-ministry of John the Baptist was a most striking, literal fulfilment of prophecy. ..... The work of John the Baptist, and the work of those who in the last days go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to arouse the people from their apathy, are in many respects the same.”
(He did not preach in the mainstream church of his day. He was a type of those who will be giving the Third Angel’s Message with power.)
4SP 424 “Thus will the message of the third angel be proclaimed. As the time comes for the loud cry to be given, the Lord will work through humble instruments, leading the minds of those who consecrate themselves to his service. The laborers will be qualified rather by the unction of his Spirit than by the training of literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will be constrained to go forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God gives them. The sins of Babylon will be laid open. The fearful results of a union of Church and State, the inroads of Spiritualism, the stealthy but rapid progress of the papal power,--all will be unmasked. By these solemn warnings the people will be stirred. Thousands upon thousands have never listened to words like these. In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from Heaven. The people go to their former teachers with the eager inquiry, Are these things so? The ministers present fables, prophesy smooth things, to soothe their fears, and quiet the awakened conscience. But many refuse to be satisfied with the mere authority of men, and demand a plain "Thus saith the Lord." The popular ministry, like the Pharisees of old, are filled with anger as their authority is questioned; they denounce the message as of Satan, and stir up the sin-loving multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it.”
(The three angels messages are given by God’s human representatives as warnings before the fearful seven last plagues are poured out. God in His love for His creatures makes sure that they are warned before destruction comes; as He did in Noah’s day before the flood. Many laughed and scoffed when the message was given but were consequently destroyed. So it will be in the time of the plagues.)
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not Perish, but have Everlasting Life."
What greater love could be shown to erring mortals than this. The Lawmaker paying the penalty for the sinner. Not that he should continue sinning, but that he should be a victorious Christian, confessing and forsaking his sins, overcoming temptatation and keeping the Commandments by the power of God. To assist human beings in their fight against sin, God has given them a health reform message which if practiced will make the battle against heredity and cultivated tendencies much easier. If the appetites and passions are controlled, the power of the mind becomes stronger to do God’s will. Physical, mental and spiritual health will all benefit from this reform.

The Third Angel's Message is God's last call before the close of human probation and the seven last plagues. It is being given to all the world at this present time while God's true people are being sealed for translation. This is a work of separation from sin and sinners, which includes a separation from apostasy and all false forms of worship. Christ set us the example of mingling with sinners with the object of teaching them His message, but He withdrew Himself and His apostles from all false systems of worship.
