THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

According to Scripture — the Holy Bible (including Old and New Testaments).

Gospel = Unquestionable Truth (Collins dict.)

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not Perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Notice the emphasized capital letters in this text. They spell “GOSPEL” This text explains the Gospel of Jesus.

Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die

I Corinthians 15:34 “Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.”

I John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin trans-gresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

The first inhabitants of this planet were created with perfect bodies and minds, and placed in a beautiful environment. They were given a probationary testing time in which to prove their love and loyalty to their Creator by exercising the gift of free choice to comply with God’s Law of Love. The life of every living thing is dependent upon a connection with the source of life.

As Sin separates the sinner from this power, the result can only be death. Sin cannot exist in God’s presence.

The plan for the Salvation of mankind was devised in order that mankind could have another chance, by Christ agreeing to come into this world in human flesh, and bear the penalty for rebellion against God’s perfect Law.

This shows the importance of God’s Law upon which His government is established.

The Law would be unstable if it could be changed to accommodate sin, and the result would be an unstable universe.

The promise of the Redeemer, was given to Adam and Eve when they sinned. This same Gospel was repeated to many prophets through history and was fulfilled in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

This text explicitly states that the people would be saved FROM their SINS. — not only from the results of their sins — they would not be saved IN their SINS.

Sin has been a curse to this planet. Happy day when sin comes to its end!

The Gospel Commission

Matthew 28:19,20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Mark 1:1—11 “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.” “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” “John did baptize in the wilderness, and teach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.” “And there went out unto him all the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.” And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.” “I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” “And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.” “And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:” And there came a voice from heaven, [saying], Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Colossians 2:12 “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.”

Baptism of infants or by sprinkling is not scriptural. Christ was baptized by immersion in the river Jordan. Baptism signifies a death to the old nature, buried and rising to walk in a new life.

Colossians 3:1—10 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” “When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:” “For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:” “In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.” “But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.” “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;” “And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”

Colossians 3:25 “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”

The State of the Dead

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

I Thessalonians 4:16—18 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

These texts make it clear that when people die, they do not go to heaven or purgatory, but are dead and await the second coming of Christ who will raise the righteous saints from the grave.

Satan’s great Lie “thou shalt not surely die” which he told to Eve in the beginning has been perpetuated through the ages by many of the clergy when they tell folk that when a loved one dies they go straight to Heaven. — or when they teach the doctrine of purgatory that the soul is still conscious. These theories are Satanic and are not according to the truth of Scripture.

Exhortation to Holy Living

I Thessalonians 5:9—10 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” “Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”

I Thessalonians 5:18—22 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” “Quench not the Spirit.” “Despise not prophesyings.” “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”

Romans 6:15-16 “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

Romans 7:7 “What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”

Ezekiel 3:20—21 “Again, When a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” “Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.”

I John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”

Revelation 22:14, 15 “Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” “For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

Revelation 22:18, 19 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:” “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.”

Psalms 1:2, 3 “But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Psalms 119:1, 2 “Blessed [are] the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed [are] they that keep his testimonies, [and that] seek him with the whole heart.”

Psalms 119:6 “Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.”

Psalms 119:18 “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”

Psalms 119:45 “And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.”

Psalms 119:142 “....Thy law [is] the truth.”

Psalms 119:165 “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”

Psalm 119:172 “My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments [are]righteousness.”

Righteous Commandments never have to be changed. As God’s Law is the Truth, why accept any attempt to alter it? The world seeks for great peace and yet generally rejects God’s Law of protection from sin and its results.

Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Matthew 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Matthew 24:27 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Matthew 24:31 “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Luke 10:2 “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”
